Rino's Shoes of Vancouver is renowned in Canada and the United
States for producing footwear of world-class quality. The company is owned by
Rino Orsato, a friendly, big-hearted man whose pride of workmanship is evident
in every pair of shoes and boots. Rino started making shoes at the age of nine
in the Scarpa factory in northern Italy. Since 1959 Rino along with his assistants
has been plying his
trade in Vancouver.
Upon entering Rino's Shoes, one is immediately aware of the rich aroma of new leather. A quick glance reminds one of a den or study with the bookshelves replaced with rows of shoes and boots. Most remaining space is filled with photographs, many autographed, of celebrities that have had footwear made here. The decor also includes many photo's, trophies, banners and memorabilia attesting to Rino's love and support of soccer.
Rino has made custom footwear for numerous celebrities including music legends Liberace, Little Richard, the Beach Boys, Bon Jovi, Steve Tyler, movie stars including Robin Williams, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone, Angelina Joli, and wrestling greats Gene Kinisky and Andre the Giant. Many stage and screen productions have ordered footwear as well as a number of soccer teams and members of the Vancouver police force.
